PURPOSE: To provide a television receiver where a television program to be viewed can easily be retrieved and selected through the use of a television column by character broadcasting, the viewing of television broadcasting and video recording can be reserved through the use of a touch panel installed on a television screen and a reservation remote controller and character broadcasting can easily be selected and viewed through the use of the character program column of a television. ;CONSTITUTION: The television column of channels is transmitted by using character broadcasting, and it is displayed on the television receiver 13 as a character broadcasting screen. A viewer can easily reserve the broadcasting of a channel or reserve video recording by touching the program name screen (touch panel) of the television column, which the viewer retrieves/selects, or by using the reservation remote controller. A character broadcasting program can similarly and easily be selected and viewed by using the character program column without manually inputting the number of a code number.
