PURPOSE: To improve the estimated accuracy of a steel slab temp. by controlling the temp. in a furnace based on information of variable atmospheric gas component in the furnace and furnace temp., etc. ;CONSTITUTION: The detected values of a CO2 meter 4 and a dew-point hygrometer 5 and the detected temp. of a thermometer 11 in the furnace are given to a controller 12 and an arithmetic unit 13 calculates the atmospheric gas component quantities according to the equations. Further, the furnace temp. distribution in the furnace longitudinal direction is calculated from the thermometer 11 in the furnace and a gas emissivity εG is obtd. and an overall heat absorbing ratio ϕCG is calculated. Based on this value, the steel slab temp. in the furnace, furnace temp. distribution and the aimed ejecting temp. are pre-calculated. Then, the temp. rising pattern to the ejection, ejecting pitch and furnace temp. setting value are decided.
