CONSTITUTION:A grinding stone G comprises the plural number of thin plate typed grinding stones with elasticity and flexibility and is inserted between adjacent fork blades 17 of a metal fork F and polishing is made by inclining the side of the fork blades 17 to the side of the grindstone. In this case, polishing is made such that the outer circumferential part of the grindstone is bent, following to the side of the fork blades 17 due to elasticity and flexibility of the grindstone, while it is stuck firmly to the side of the fork blades 17 for polishing. It comes from this that the polished face having uniform finishing, excellent outlook and high quality can be obtained. Furthermore, the grindstone with elasticity and flexibility is used, therefore it is possible to absorb effects of erroneous operation even if it is performed and thus to prevent damages to the grindstone.
