PURPOSE: To give the service of a printer and to reprogram a diagnostic program at a remote place without the need of directly connecting the printer to a computer. ;CONSTITUTION: A printer diagnosis controller which can carry and which can execute reprogramming is provided with EPROM 22 for storing an operation program, a flash memory 23 which can electrically delete data used for the diagnosis of the printer so that it can be programmed, a micro controller 21 having connectors 12 and 13 for connecting the system to the computer for down-loading software in the system and for connecting the system to the printer for down-loading the stored program in the printer for the diagnostic test, and a processor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
