DIVERSITY ANTENNA AND CORDLESS TELEPHONE SET WITH DIVERSITY ANTENNA MOUNTED THEREON

PURPOSE: To increase a reception input level, to reduce the fluctuation and to make a receiver small by providing an electric field antenna and a magnetic field antenna in the vicinity of the receiver and using a changeover section to select either of the antennas depending on a reception intensity. ;CONSTITUTION: Part of a radio electromagnetic wave sent and propagated is reflected by a reflecting plate and an electric field standing wave and a magnetic field standing wave are in existence in the vicinity of the reflecting plate. When the receiver having a diversity antenna is moved, a switch driver 11 controlls an antenna changeover device 20 to close contacts 21, 23 at a location where the magnetic field standing wave is stronger than the electric field standing wave. As a result, a reception signal from a magnetic field antenna 16 is outputted to a reception input terminal 24 via a matching loop 18 and a coaxial cable 19. Furthermore, the changeover device 20 contacts 21, 22 at a location where the magnetic field standing wave is smaller than the electric field standing wave, and the reception signal from an electric field antenna 13 is outputted to the input terminal 24. Then the audio signal is outputted from the input terminal 24 to an output terminal 9 via a high frequency circuit 5, an intermediate frequency circuit 6, a detection circuit 7 and an audio control circuit 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
