PURPOSE:To make it possible to transmit tool data with no affection of vibration, heat or the like, by substantially separating a tool and a tool data bearing memory medium while the tool and the tool data have simultaneously mobility. CONSTITUTION:A memory means is an external one having a function for writing therein and reading out therefrom tool data fed to a machining center, and is composed of a body section 10a and a write-in/read-out head 9. The body section 10a as a memory medium receives and delivers a power timing signal, a write-in serial signal and a read-out serial signal by means of a magnetic coupling coil 11a, and may access data in a memory. Corresponding to the body section 10a as a memory medium, a coil 11b corresponding to the coil 11a is provided on the write-in/read-out head 9 side. Both coils 11a, 11b generate magnetic force lines therebetween.
