DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING DEGREE OF SIMILARITY, AND EVALUATING DEVICE OF SCALE FOR CALCULATING DEGREE OF SIMILARITY

PURPOSE: To properly execute the operation of the degree of similarity by deriving correcting information to the degree of similarity, based on the adaptability of information, and calculating the degree of similarity after its correction. ;CONSTITUTION: Image information converted to digital data by an image scanner is stored in a magnetic disk 39. Also, in the magnetic disk 39, plural evaluation scales being scales are stored in advance, and moreover, a threshold for judging whether the evaluation scale is used as the evaluation scale for calculating the degree of similarity or not is stored. In this case, CPU 23 reads out image data, a rule and a membership function stored in the magnetic disk 39 to a RAM 26 in accordance with a program stored in a ROM 25. The CPU 23 calculates the evaluation in the evaluation scale by using the rule and the membership function with regard to the read-out image data.
