PURPOSE:To accurately and efficiently determine adequate connection destination of an 'ing or ed' phrase from a general viewpoint as to an English sentence containing the 'ing or ed' phrase which generally has plural connection destinations. CONSTITUTION:The syntax analytic system and syntax analytic control system are equipped with a conclusion judgement part 10 which judges whether or not an 'ing or ed' phrase and its adjacent word or phrase on the head sentence side mutually meet conclusion requirements and come into one when an aimed word or phrase is the 'ing or ed' phrase, a dependency relation total judgement part 20 which extracts all syntax meaning relation between the 'ing or ed' phrases and words that are present in the adjacent word or phrase on the sentence head side of the 'ing or ed' phrase and can connect with the 'ing or ed' phrase, totally evaluates all the syntax meaning relations, and generally select an optimum syntax meaning relation, and an analytic tree generation part 30 which generates an analytic subtree by putting the 'ing or ed' phrase and its adjacent word or phrase on the sentence head side together into one according to the judgement of the dependency relation total judgement part 20.
