摘要

PURPOSE: To separate the subject isomers in high purity by dissolving the cis- isomer and the trans-isomer of an ester of methacrylic acid and an alkyl- substituted cyclohexyl alcohol in a solvent. ;CONSTITUTION: An ester of methacrylic acid and a cyclohexyl alcohol derivative having 4-8C alkyl group as a substituent at the ortho, meta or para-site of hydroxyl group is dissolved in a solvent such as benzene. The produced solution is cooled and left standing to crystallize the trans-isomer while leaving the cis-isomer in the solution. The precipitated crystal is separated from the solution by a solid-liquid separation method. A polymer produced by the polymerization of the separated trans-isomer of the alkyl-substituted cyclohexyl methacrylate has high heat-resistance compared with conventional polymer produced by the polymerization of a mixture of the cis-isomer and the trans-isomer of the ester.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
