PURPOSE: To provide a superplastic aluminum base alloy material and manufacture thereof. ;CONSTITUTION: This alloy the material whose matrix is constituted of an aluminum or aluminum supersaturated one having 0.005 to 1μm average grain diameter, and in which the grains constituted of the stable phases or metastable phases of various intermetallic compounds formed by the main element (matrix element) and alloy elements are uniformly distributed into the matrix and the size of the average grains of the intermetallic compounds is regulated to 0.001 to 0.1μm. This manufacture is the method for manufacturing the superplastic aluminum base alloy material in which the material constituted of an amorphous phase, a mixed phase of amorphous ones and fine crystalline ones or a fine crystalline phase is subjected to heat treatment at a prescribed temp. for prescribed time and is then subjected to working heat treatment.
