PURPOSE:To provide a coating material for forming antistatic high-refractive- index film excellent in antistatic properties, a transparent laminate which is prepared using the coating material, excellent in antistatic and reflection- preventing properties, and a cathode ray tube which is made using the laminate and exhibits antistatic, electromagnetic-wave-shielding, reflection-preventing, and high-contrast effects. CONSTITUTION:The coating material is a water-base dispersion of a mixture comprising a fine oxide powder doped with antimony, a fine black conductive powder, and a polymeric dispersant. The laminate comprises an antistatic high- refractive-index film layer formed from the material and a low-refractive-index film layer having a refractive index lower than that of the former layer by at least 0.1. A cathode ray tube has the laminate formed on the front surface.
