ACCELERATION REDUCING STRUCTURE FOR SOFT LANDING BOTTOM TYPE AND FLOATING TYPE OCEANIC STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: To effectively reduce acceleration in a vertical direction by providing damping water chambers of serving as a dashpot and elastic members between a soft landing bottom base and a structure main unit. ;CONSTITUTION: A structure main unit 3, when loaded with acceleration in a vertical direction by earthquake and wave force, is vertically moved, to slide sliding cylinders 5 in a vertical direction in supporting cylinders 2 according to vertically moving this main unit, and a damping water chamber 11 functions as a dashpot, to extrude or suck damping water W in the inside from a water flow hole 10. In this way, vibration energy of the sliding cylinder 5 is absorbed to damp a vertical motion of the structure main unit 3. Simultaneously with the above, by further absorbing the vibration energy of the sliding cylinder 5 by elastic members 12, the vertical motion generated in the structure main unit 3 is more effectively damped.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
