PURPOSE:To establish a method for the mass production of artificial seed of bivalve by developing an artificial particulate feed for bivalves of from the planktonic juvenile state to the grown state by wet granulation method. CONSTITUTION:Bivalves are grown from planktonic juvenile to grown bivalve using a micro-encapsulated artificial particulate feed containing nutrients necessary for the growth of bivalves. The survival ratio of the juvenile attained by the use of the artificial feed was comparable to the result obtained by the use of a contrast natural live feed and the growth rate was 80-90% based on the natural feed. A process for the mass production of the artificial seed of bivalves has been developed by the development of the feed.
