PURPOSE: To obtain an index objectively judging the non-linear characteristics of an element to be tested (DUT) by applying tester voltage to the DUT to measure the current flowing to the DUT and calculating the differential coefficient in the coordinates of the two-dimensional coordinates system of voltage-versus-current to calculate a non-linear ratio. ;CONSTITUTION: A voltage source 10 supplies various voltage signals to the diode of a DUT 16 corresponding to the digital control signal supplied from a controller 14. The voltage across both terminals of the DUT 16 is detected by a voltage probe 18 to be inputted to the channel 1 of a digital oscilloscope 20. The current flowing through the DUT 16 is detected by a current probe 22 to be supplied to the channel 2 of the oscilloscope 20. The oscilloscope 20 is controlled by the controller 14 and performs measurement in synchronis with the test signal generated by the voltage source 10. The differential coefficient K(=dI/DV) in the coordinates (Vs, Is) on the forward characteristic curve of the diode of the DUT 16 is calculated and a non-linear ratio N=K(Vs/Is) is calculated using the coefficient K.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
