PURPOSE: To assure the stable photosensitivity during preservation as well as a low reciprocity law failure by adding bromide simultaneously with or after iridium to a silver chloride emulsion. ;CONSTITUTION: This method of decreasing the reciprocity law failure of the silver chloride emulsion includes a stage of adding the iridium and the bromide to the emulsion contg. the iridium in the amt. between 2×10-9mol and 5×10-6mol, the emulsion existing in the amt. between 0.25mol% and 4mol% in the final emulsion, the photographic element contg. the iridium in the amt. between 2×10-9mol and 5×10-6mol and the silver chloride emulsion. The bromide is added simultaneously with or after the iridium. The iridium is included between 1×10-10mol and 1×10-5mol per 1mol final silver of the final emulsion and the bromide exists between 0.1mol% and 10mol% in the final emulsion.
