PURPOSE: To obtain an active vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae spore useful in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, etc., at a low cost by a simple and short period treatment operation comprising holding the vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae spores at a specific range of temperature for a specified period without requiring a large quantity of electric power and a wide low temperature installation. ;CONSTITUTION: This method for producing an active vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae spore comprises spreading red soil balls calcined at 800°C as a base material in a vinylic polymer pot, inoculating the spore of a vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae such as Gigaspora margarita as a spawn on the spread base material, again adding red soil balls thereon, sowing the seeds of red clover, etc., in the soil, watering, cultivating the red clover, etc., for several months at a room temperature controlled to 25-30°C, separating the formed spores, adding calcined attapulgite having a water content of 10% to the vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae spores, and subsequently holding the mixture at 33-55°C for 1-40 days. Thus, the objective active vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae spores useful in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, etc., is obtained at a low cost by the simple and short period treatment without requiring a large quantity of electric powder and a wide low temperature installation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
