PRODUCTION OF PALMITOLEIC ACID UTILIZING BLUE-GREEN ALGAE

摘要

PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain the subject compound and enable the mass production thereof by reacting blue-green algae which has produced the palmitoleic acid with hydrochloric acid and methanol, methylating the palmitoleic acid and then extracting the resultant methyl palmitoleate. ;CONSTITUTION: A methylating agent composed of hydrochloric acid and methanol is initially added to blue-green algae which has produced palmitoleic acid and the resultant mixture is then heated to methylate the palmitoleic acid in the blue-green algae. The resultant methyl palmitoleate subsequently extracted from the blue-green algae with an extracting agent such as n-hexane or ether. Furthermore, Unicellular ATCC 27265 of the genus Synechoccus, Filamentous ATCC 33047 of the genus Anabaena, etc., are preferably used as the blue-green algae.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
