PURPOSE: To securely input picture patterns as to all desired outlines and to easily place and remove a specified plane member for improving input by providing a guide groove in prescribed width on the surface of the member. ;CONSTITUTION: A coordinate information input auxiliary member 40 is the plane member composed of a hard material which has a character passing through a magnetic field and whose electric resistance value is high, acrylic resin and plastic, for example. The guide groove 41 having prescribed width is provided on the surface. The guide groove 41 is provided so that it constitutes the outline of the picture pattern. Thus, the coordinate information input auxiliary member 40 is placed on the coordinate detection surface of a coordinate input device, a position indicator 30 is carried by a right hand while the coordinate information input auxiliary member 40 is pressed by a left hand, for example, and trace-writing is executed so that a core body 37 shifts within the guide groove 41. Thus, the desired picture pattern can be inputted.
