PURPOSE:To provide a heat input control method for laser beam seam welding capable of satisfying the external appearance quality and joining strength in laser beam seam welding by a YAG laser beam, etc. CONSTITUTION:In the heat input control method when an inner door panel 1 of a galvanized steel sheet and an outer door panel 3 of a galvanized steel sheet are subjected to hemming machining via a filled sealer material 2 and then, seam welding is performed on the hemming machined part 4 by the YAG laser beam 6, after welding conditions of laser beam seam welding are set to the specified conditions and welding is started, any of a peak value, the pulse width, pulse frequency, the welding speed, etc., which are parameters to decice the welding conditions is made variable up to a point of time when a heat accumulation effect of the sealer material 2 is saturated according to formation of a weld bead and heat energy supplied to the hemming machined part 4 is controlled by the YAG laser beam 6.
