PURPOSE: To immediately make the permeated liquid side of an ultrafilter cartridge a pressure system and to effectively remove the membrane fouling stuck on the inside of an ultrafilter membrane in a short time in a method for backwashing ultrafilter membrane devices by using the pressure of compressed air to backwash the ultrafilter membrane device. ;CONSTITUTION: Ultrafiltration is performed by passing liquid to be treated from an original liquid tank 1 through an ultrafilter membrane 3 by a feed pump 2 to treat it and returning it to the original liquid tank 1 through a pressure adjusting valve 7. And when the membrane fouling on the ultrafilter membrane 3 occurs by ultrafiltration and its backwash is required, first the feed pump 2 is stopped and a solenoid valve 5 is closed. Next, after a solenoid valve 8 is opened, a solenoid valve 4 is opened to introduce compressed air into an ultrafilter cartridge 9. Then the permeated liquid side of the ultrafilter cartridge 9 is made in a pressurized state by the compressed air, allowing the permeated liquid to flow from outside to inside the ultrafilter membrane 3, permitting the membrane fouling stuck on the inside of the ultrafilter membrane 3 to be washed away.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
