METHOD FOR JOINING HIGH MANGANESE CAST STEEL FOR RAILWAY POINT COMPONENT OR MANGANESE STEEL RAIL WITH CARBON STEEL RAIL

摘要

PURPOSE: To uniformize the distribution of structure by joining an austenite high manganese cast steel for railway point component or rail with a low carbon steel base rail. ;CONSTITUTION: Flash-welding is executed to the rail 3 joined with a low carbon austenite steel-made intermediate piece 3 and successively, after cutting off the intermediate piece to the length having ≤25 mm, this cut intermediate piece is welded with the high manganese cast steel-made railway point component 1. As the intermediate material, the low carbon austenite steel executing a stabilizing treatment with Nb or Ti is used, and in succession to the first welding process, a diffusion annealing heat treatment is executed in the temp. range of 350-1000°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
