METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ZEBRA MUSSEL BY USING DIDECYL DIMETHYL AMMONIUM HALIDE

PURPOSE: To obtain a method for inhibiting the growth of zebra mussels in an aq. system which contains the zebra mussels or in which the zebra mussels are easy to grow by adding an effective amt. of a didecyl dimethyl ammonium halide to the aq. system. ;CONSTITUTION: The method for inhibiting the growth of the zebra mussels in the aq. system which contains the zebra mussels or in which the zebra mussels are easy to grow is achieved by adding the effective amt. of the didecyl dimethyl ammonium halide to the aq. system. The effective amt. used in this method signifies the amt. of the didecyl dimethyl ammonium halide necessary for achieving the purpose of the treatment. The effective amt. of the compd. necessary for this method varies with the enclosing temp. of the aq. system, a material to be combined in water or the presence of a deactivation cation polymer, the concn. of the zebra mussels existing in the aq. system to be controlled, the priority stage of a life cycle and other factors.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
