PROTECTING SYSTEM FOR SELF-EXCITED AC GENERATOR FROM SHORT-CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To provide a protecting system for the short circuit of a self exciting AC generator which is effective in the case that the protection against short circuit by a breaker is not performed from the load property of the generator, concerning the method of performing the protection of the generator from short circuit. ;CONSTITUTION: In a self-excited AC generator, which is equipped, on stator side, with an output coil 2, and, on rotor side, with a field coil 5, and keeps the voltage of the output coil 2 constant by rectifying the output voltage of the auxiliary coil 3 provided on the stator side and supplying it to the field coil 5 and intermitting the current of the field coil 5, according to the voltage of the output coil 2, being equipped with a voltage adjusting circuit 6, a field breaking circuit 31 is provided, which stops the power generation by breaking the current of the field coil 5 when the condition that the voltage of the output coil 2 has a value lower than the stationary value has continued for a certain period.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
