PRODUCTION OF BRAZING FILLER METAL CLAD ALUMINUM MATERIAL BY THERMAL STRAYING METHOD

PURPOSE: To carry out favorable brazing by improving the adhesion of an aluminum material and a brazing filler metal layer and preventing the oxidation of the brazing filler metal under thermal spraying in the process for production of the brazing filler metal clad aluminum material on which the brazing filler metal layer is clad and formed by a thermal spraying method. ;CONSTITUTION: Metallic powder contg. Al, Si and unavoidable impurities and contg. the Al and the Si at 90:10-70:30 by weight ratio is used. This metallic powder and the fluoride flux are mixed in a range from 99:1-70:30 by weight ratio. Such powder mixture is thermally sprayed. The molten metal particles are sufficiently wetted and spread to the surface of the aluminum material by the effect of the flux, by which the secure adhesion of the aluminum material 1 and the brazing filler metal layer 2 is assured. In addition, the oxidation of the Al and Si under thermal spraying is suppressed and the change in the compsn. of the brazing filler metal is suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
