PURPOSE: To provide an α+β type titanium alloy having a structural form excellent in mechanical properties and easily realizable in place of the conventional equiaxial structure. ;CONSTITUTION: This α+β type titanium alloy is the one in which acicular αis deformed and the state of the inside of each acicular α is formed into an unrecrystallized one divided by dislocated cell walls. The width of the acicular α is preferably regulated to ≤5μm. The distance between the dislocated cell walls is preferably regulated to ≤10μm. The titanium alloy is not subjected to heat treatment after being hot-worked. A little less than 50% is enough as the amt. of the alloy to be worked needed for the deformation of the acicular αand the introduction of the dislocation, and it is extremely small compared to the amt. to be worked needed for the recrystallization and the generation of flaws is not shown.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
