METHOD FOR EXTRACTING PICTURE ELEMENTS CONSITITUTING SEGMENT IN IMAGE AND METHOD FOR JUDGING SEGMENT

PURPOSE: To provide a method capable of exactly extracting picture elements constituting a segment in an image without being influenced by the uneveness of density an image requiring complicated processing algorithm. ;CONSTITUTION: The method for extracting picture elements constituting segment in an image to be inspected based upon density data expressing the degree of density in respective picture elements in the image is characterized by setting up partial image 10, 20, 30 consisting of remarked picture elements 11, 21, 31 and their peripheral picture elements, repeatedly finding out the ratios of operation results found from density data belonging to specific direction areas including the picture elements 11, 21, 31 in the image 10, 20, 30 to operation results found from density data belonging to remaining areas while changing the specific direction, judging the appropriateness and directionality of the picture elements 11, 21, 31 to be segment constituting elements based upon the size of the ratio obtained in each specific direction, and then extracting the segment constituting picture elements.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
