METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SIMULATING DISTINCTIVE FEATURE

PURPOSE:To easily and exactly confirm a printed image in a short time by calculating the CMYK ratio of all the dinstinctive feature plates based on a set CMYK ratio and the information of the distinctive feature plates and obtaining a synthetic color image by converting the calculated CMYK ratio into an RGB ratio. CONSTITUTION:A distinctive feature plate information input device 1 is composed of a drum scanner and reads the information of the distinctive feature plates composed of monochromatic films expressing the parts of putting on distinctive feature ink with dots. Further, a CMYK ratio setting device 2 is composed of a keyboard and sets the CMKY ratio of that ink to the inputted information of the distinctive feature plates. Based on the CMKY ratio set by the setting device 2 and the information of the distinctive feature plates, an arithmetic unit 5 calculates the CMYK ratio from the sum of ink quantity in all the distinctive feature plates. Based on the CMYK ratio calculated in this case, the correspondent RGB ratio is calculated by using a conversion table stored in a storage device 4, the colors are displayed on a display device 3, and the final synthetic color image is obtained. Thus, the printed image can be easily and exactly confirmed in a short time.
