PURPOSE:To provide a residual iron removing device for large runner in a blast furnace improving the efficiency of the residual iron removing work by forming groove in the width direction or the longitudinal direction of the large runner at the prescribed interval to the residual iron in the large runner. CONSTITUTION:To the residual iron 2 deposited in the large runner 1, the grooves 7 are formed in the width directio of the large runner 1 at each prescribed interval in the longitudinal direction of the large runner 1 or in the longitudinal direction of the large runner 1 with a rotary cutting edge 6 in a cutting device 3. The main component in adrasive grains of the rotary cutting edge 6 in this cutting device 3 uses diamond adrasive grains. Further, the cutting device 3 is mounted on a truck 9 running along the large runner 1.
