MIGRATING ELECTRODE IN CAPILLARY TYPE ELECTROPHORESIS METHOD AND ELECTROPHORESIS METHOD USING THE ELECTRODE

PURPOSE: To take the samples separately, continuously and quickly without skill by forming a crack part at the halfway of a capillary column constituting a migrating electrode, covering the crack part with covering material, and forming an electrode connecting part. ;CONSTITUTION: A capillary 2 filled with electrolyte buffer is formed of molten quarts silica. It is preferable that the surface area with respect to the volume is large and the circular shape can be readily formed for the cross sectional shape. Electrolyte solution such as phosphoric acid buffer is contained in an electrode liquid cell 6. At an electrode-liquid connecting part 8, e.g. a horseshoe- type fixing plate 15, is bonded to the capillary 2. When polyimide or the like covers the outer surface of the capillary 2, the heated heating wire is brought into contact with the capillary 2. After the cover is removed, a crack is formed with a cutter. The crack part 16 is covered with polyacrylamide gel 17. It is not necessary to submerge one end part of the capillary 2 into the electrode liquid cell 7.
