PURPOSE: To enable the efficient dephosphorization treatment of the treated water stagnating in a septic tank in a sewage treatment device for dephosphorizing the treated water of the septic tank with contact filter media made of iron by packing the contact filter media made of the iron into the pumping up chamber of a pump device which pumps up the treated water of the septic tank. ;CONSTITUTION: The treated water in the pump tank is withdrawn from the opening at the bottom end of a lift pipe 11, is risen in the pipe by an air lift effect and is pumped up into an inflow chamber X of a metering box K when the treated water is subjected to the air feed effect on the air feed pipe for air lift from a blower pump on the outside of the tank. The treated water flowing into the inflow chamber X flows under an undercurrent weir plate 7 into an intermediate chamber Y. A proper amt. of the contact filter media R made of the iron, such as iron swarf or iron pin balls, are packed from the inflow chamber X into the intermediate chamber Y at this time. The treated water flowing therein, therefore, flows while submerging and meandering in the spaces among the contact filter media R made of the iron and is dephosphorized by being subjected to the iron contact treatment.
