MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY WITH AFFINITY FOR OSTEOCLAST COMPONENT, OSTEOCLAST DETECTING AGENT AND BONE RESORPTION INHIBITOR

PURPOSE: To provide means for detecting and quantifying osteoclast in body fluid or body tissue and also inhibiting bone resorption by using a monoclonal antibody-natured reagent specifically bindable to the osteoclast component in animal body fluid. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective detecting agent and bone resorption inhibitor are each either monoclonal antibody itself or contain the antibody as active ingredient. The antibody is produced from hybridoma from the splenocytes and myelomatous cells of BALB/C mice sensitized with animal osteoclast. In this case, hybridoma 4E and hybridoma 5H are each especially effective in terms of the purpose, the latter, in particular, giving remarkable bone resorption- inhibitory activity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
