PURPOSE: To provide a method for recovering rhodium from the distillation residues of products of the oxo synthesis. CONSTITUTION: The distillation residues are treated with oxygen or oxygen- containing gas in the presence of an alkali salt of 2-5C monocarboxylic acid for recovering rhodium containing as a soluble compound in the distillation residues of products of the oxo synthesis. Rhodium is extracted from the organic phase using an aqueous solution of a reactive component capable of forming complexes with rhodium, if necessary after it has already been extracted by water beforehand.
