RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR ADHESION BY VULCANIZATION, METHOD FOR ADHESION BY VULCANIZATION, AND BONDED METAL-RUBBER ARTICLE

PURPOSE: To obtain the rubber compsn. which provides a very high adhesive strength without using an adhesive while maintaining the mechanical characteristics of a rubber at high levels by compounding a rubber component with a specific metal acrylate compd. ;CONSTITUTION: The compsn. contains 100 pts.wt. rubber component (e.g. an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer rubber) and 0.1-50 pts.wt. at least one metal acrylate compd. of the formula (wherein R is H or CH₃; M is a mono-, di-, or trivalent metal atom; m is 1-3; and n is 0-2)(e.g. zinc acrylate). The compsn. is bonded to a metal by the so-called adhesion by vulcanization method, i.e., the compsn. kept in contact with the metal is vulcanized. The compsn. can be bonded to various kinds of metal. Since no adhesive is used no staining due to it on both adherends, the compsn. and the metal, occurs.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
