PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber comprising specific core and sheath components, having a specific ratio on the surface of the sheath component occupying the cross section of the fiber and excellent in fibrillation resistance and fatigue resistance. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber is characterized by comprising a conjugate spun fiber containing (A) an aromatic polyester (preferably an all aromatic polyester having repeating units of formulas I and II in an amount of ≥80mol.%) capable of forming an anisotropic melted phase as a core component, (B) a branched poly(arylene sulfide) resin in an amount of ≥80wt.% in the sheath component, further p-dichlorobenzene, an organic amine, 20wt.% of other polymers, a pigment, etc., the component B occupying the cross section of the fiber being 0.05-0.6 in the area ratio [component B/(component A + component B)].;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
