INSTRUMENT FOR COMPARING AND MEASURING MAGNETIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To measure the weight, material, and texture of a magnetic material, such as a ferrous metallic material, which are largely related to the quality of the material with higher accuracy at a higher speed as compared with the conventional nondestructive inspections, such as ultrasonic flaw detection, etc., and, at the same time, to improve the durability of the title instrument. ;CONSTITUTION: Differences in the quality and texture of a magnetic material are discriminated by measuring the phase difference between an exciting voltage applied across a master and test coils 1 and 2 and a voltage induced across the secondary windings 1b and 2b of the coils 1 and 2 while the exciting voltage is applied across the coils 1 and 2. On the other hand, a difference in weight is discriminated by measuring the potential difference between the exciting voltage and the maximum voltage induced across the secondary windings 1b and 2b of the coils 1 and 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
