MULTILAYER THERMOPLASTIC WRAPPING FILM HAVING HIGH OXYGEN PERMEABILITY

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermoformable multilayered film having high oxygen permeability and suitable for packaging fresh food by constituting the film of a seal layer and an outer heat-resistant layer comprising a polymer compsn. having an m.p. higher than that of the seal layer. CONSTITUTION: A thermoformable multilayered film contains a seal layer and an outer heat-resistant layer preferably comprising a propylene base polymer and the polymer compsn. of the outer heat-resistant layer has an m.p. higher than that of the seal layer preferably by at least 10 deg.F. The multilayered film contains the seal layer and the heat-resistant layer and has high oxygen permeability and thermoformable characteristics. The seal layer is prefrably composed of low density polyethylene. An ethylenic ionomer shows heat-sealability and excellent oxygen permeability. Thus, a film used in the package of fresh food is obtained.
