VIBRATION NOISE PREVENTING DEVICE FOR GEAR CASE OF ENGINE

PURPOSE: To suppress vibration noise of a gear case front wall by bringing it into contact with a point end surface of an idle gear shaft, and fixing the gear case front wall to a cylinder block by a fixing tool inserted through the gear case front wall and the idle gear shaft. ;CONSTITUTION: A timing gear transmitting device is provided in the front side of a cylinder block 2 of an engine and covered with a gear case 30, and its peripheral wall is fixed to the cylinder block 2. A front wall 31 of the gear case 30 is brought into contact with the front end face of an idle gear shaft 15 of the timing gear transmitting device, and a fixing tool 18 is inserted through the front wall 31 and the idle gear shaft 15, to fix the front wall 31 rigidly mounted to the cylinder block 2 through the idle gear shaft 15. In this way, vibration of the front wall 31 is suppressed to prevent a noise according to the vibration. Necessity for the conventional vibro-isolating rubber is eliminate to reduce a number of part items.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
