PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition which gives a film excellent in gas barrier properties, transparency, flexibility, etc., by using a specified silane compound derivative, a quaternary ammonium salt compound and water as the constituents. ;CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (1) a member selected from (A) a product of the reaction of a silane compound of formula I (wherein R¹ and R² are each H, lower alkyl, aryl, etc.; R³ is H, lower alkyl, acyl, etc.; and (x) and (y) are each 0 to 3) with an organic compound having a plurality of functional groups reactive with the silane compound, (B) a reactional product obtained by the hydrolysis and condensation before or after the reaction of the silane compound with the organic compound, (C) a product of the reaction of the silane compound with an organic compound of formula II (wherein M is metal; R⁴ and R⁵ are each H, lower alkyl, etc.; and (m+n) is the valence of M), and (D) a reactional product obtained by the hydrolysis and condenstion before or after the reaction of the silane compound with the compound of formula II, (2) a quaternary ammonium compound, and (3) water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
