PURPOSE: To reduce the complicated operation of a video tape recorder and a TV receiver by recording a signal specifying the attributes of sound, an image and a mode on a video tape and automatically setting the devices by means of this signal at the time of reproduction. ;CONSTITUTION: By utilizing a video signal 14 and a sound signal 15 detected by a tuner 9 of a video tape recorder 1, an attribute detection circuit 8 detects the attribute as to video and sound (e.g. monaural recording, stereo recording, video aspect ratio, etc.) and the attribute signal 10 is transferred to a signal conversion circuit 7. On the other hand, a sound mode signal 13 and a video mode signal 12 (aspect ratio) from a TV receiver 2 are transmitted to the signal conversion circuit 7 and then, recorded on the video tape 3. At the time of reproduction, these signals are detected, transmitted to a sound mode switching device 5 of the tape recorder 1 and the video mode switching device of the TV 6 and the devices are automatically set.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
