PURPOSE: To attain the electronic certification of the existence of a document in a data processing system. CONSTITUTION: A document is automatically distributed to a user in a prescribed list. Next, a prompt to urge the input of an instruction indicating that the document is read and understood by his own computer terminal is issued to each receiver of the document. Then, a response to this prompt is stored so as to be related with the document to be identified clearly so that the document can be electronically certified by referring to that afterwards.
