PURPOSE: To provide a knot chipping machine and a raw material feeding method for the knot chipping machine capable of chipping knots continuously without a break in the state of a pressing spatula being left always pressed and that without generating the clogging of raw material in a hopper. ;CONSTITUTION: When raw material (b) is charged into a hopper 4 while pressing a pressing spatula 5, linked with a pressing means 6, with constant pressure, the pressing spatula 5 retreats against the pressing force of the pressing means 6 according to the inward lead-in of the raw material (b) by the cutting resistance of the raw material (b) caused by a cutter 2 so as to let the pressing spatula 5 in the hopper 4 and the outer face 8 of a disk 3 open. Knots can be thereby chipped continuously and efficiently without a break, and material is inserted vertically and correctly following a gap between the disk 3 and the pressing spatula 5, so that sliced pieces chipped without the generation of clogging of raw material are longitudinal articles of good quality.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
