METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT LARGE-SCALE PROLIFERATION BY TISSUE CULTURE OF ALLIUM VICTORIALIS L.

PURPOSE: To proliferate young seedlings of Allium victorialis L. in large quantities by using a technique of plant tissue culture. ;CONSTITUTION: A section of rhizome base of Allium victorialis L. is cultured in a medium containing a plant hormone to induce an adventitious bud. The adventitious bud is transplanted and proliferated in large amount and subjected to auxetic growth and further transplanted to a medium for rooting to rear a perfect young plant. The young plant is acclimated and then subjected to potting so that the young plant may be supplied as a seedling for transplantation. Although Allium victorialis L. has very low rate of multiplication under natural conditions, a large amount of seedlings can annually and continuously be produced and fed by this method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
