PURPOSE: To make it possible to use a commercial scale water treatment device by a method for treating water using alkali bromate and ozone by providing a reactive water pump, reactive water suction piping, an ozone conduit pipe and reactive water discharge piping, and conducting a mixture water of untreated water and an appropriate amount of alkali bromate into reactive water suction piping for treatment. ;CONSTITUTION: Reactive water suction piping 2 is connected to the suction orifice of a reactive water pump 1 and reactive discharge piping 3 is connected to a discharge orifice. In addition, an ozone conduit pipe 6 equipped with a valve 5 is connected to the reactive water suction piping 2 and an ozone generator 4. Further, a mixture water of untreated water and a specified ratio of alkali bromate is guided into the reactive water suction piping 2. Ozone which is appropriate for the dosage of reducible nitrogen contained in the untreated water is aspirated through the reactive water suction piping 2, then is stirred and mixed in the reactive water pump 1 and the reducible nitrogen is decomposed.
