PURPOSE:To accurately and efficiently decide the proper modification destination of a TO-infinitive phrase for an English text including the TO-infinitive phrase in which plural modification destinations exist in a local point judging from a point of general situation. CONSTITUTION:This system consists of a completeness judging part 10 which decides whether or not the TO-infinitive phrase and a phrase neighboring to the text head side of the TO-infinitive phrase satisfy a completion condition mutually and are unified in one when a remarked phrase shows the TO-infinitive phrase, a depending relation synthetic judging part 20 located in the TO-infinitive phrase and the phrase neighboring to the text head side of the TO-infinitive phrase and which selects the optimum modification relation judging from the point of general situation by extracting all the modification relation between a word that can be modified by the TO-infinitive phrase and the TO-infinitive phrase and rendering synthetic evaluation to all the modification relation, and an analysis tree generating part 30 which generates a partial analysis tree by unifying the TO-infinitive phrase and the phrase neighboring to the text head side of the TO-infinitive in one based on the judgment of the depending relation synthetic judging part 20.
