PURPOSE: To receive horizontally and vertically polarized waves without lowering reception sensitivity even when the polarized planes of those waves are deviated by arranging a ferrite polarizer, 90° phase difference 7 plate to be rotated to the side of an end face and probe at the central part of a circular waveguide. ;CONSTITUTION: A horizontally and vertically polarized waves are used for linearly polarized waves from a communication satellite. In the case of receiving the vertically polarized waves, the polarized plane is rotated to the vertically polarized waves introduced into a circular waveguide 2 by a polarizer 4, and the polarized plane of the vertically polarized waves is made parallel to a Y axis. Further, a 90° phase difference plate 5 is rotated with the tube axis of the waveguide 2 as a center, the lengthwise direction of the end face of the plate 5 is made parallel to the Y axis or an X axis. Then, the electric field of the vertically polarized waves is coupled to an excited probe 6 and converted to electric signals, and the desired signals to be received are extracted from the waveguide 2. In the case of receiving the horizontally polarized waves, the desired signals to be received can be also extracted with the operation similar to the case of receiving the vertically polarized waves. Therefore, even when the polarized planes of both of incidental polarized waves are deviated, those waves can be received without lowering the reception sensitivity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
