In order to prevent slipping of the strings of a tennis racket, achlorprene-based adhesive is applied to the crossings of the strings. Forthis purpose the fastenings are also made by the introduction of the tennisracket string into one or more tubes situated between two crossings of cordsor by inserting the strings into grooved tubes, these serving to accommodateand block the strings crossing them. To improve the fixation of the stringsand that of the string tubes in the case of an assembly using tubes,adhesives are deposited at the crossings of the strings and in the tubes (incase the inside diameters of the tubes are greater than the exteriordiameters of the cords), said adhesives establishing junctions between thestrings and the tubes. The preferred adhesives are those adhesives which,after drying, remain supple and resilient. In order to enhance the yield andcomfort of the stringing, stringing plans have been adopted that reduceeither the number of interlacings or the number of strings or both.
