ORGANOMETALLIC COMPLEXES CONTAINING COPPER, CONCENTRATES AND DIESEL FUELS CONTAINING ORGANOMETALLIC COMPLEXES

Fuel is used in diesel engines fitted with filters to the exhaust gas system. The organometallic set containing copper is used to lower the ignition temperature of the particles emitted by the engine and trapped in the filters. The organometallic complex containing copper is soluble or stable dispersible in diesel fuel and is obtained from: an organic compound containing at least two functional groups attached to a hydrocarbon chain and a metal reagent containing copper capable of forming a complex with the organic compound. To the functional descriptions refer to: = x, -hr, -nrz, -nz, = nr, = nhr, = n * -hr, -n- (r * n) xn -n, and -n = srz wherein x is o or s, r or n is a hydrocarbyl group, r is a hydrocarbylene or hydrocarbyldelene group, a is a numerical index, for example from 0 to 10. Copper may be combined with one or more metals selected from the group consisting of Na, K, Mg, Sr, Y, Zr, Mo, Fe, So, Zn, In, Pb, Sv, Mn, and Zr. The invention also relates to methods of operation of diesel engines provided with filters to the exhaust system using said diesel fuel.
