摘要

Metallic pigment for paints comprises metallic pigment particles coated with 0.1-30 (0.1-15) pts.wt. polymer for 100 pts.wt. metal component of the particles. The metallic pigment is pref. Al and it pref. also contains 0.5-5.4 pts.wt. of a silicone oil or resin for 100 pts. non volatile component of the coated particles. Depending on the amt. of polymer coating the pigment has (1) good resistance to electrical tension and is then suitable for electrostatic application, (2) good water resistance and is then suitable for aq. paints, and (3) good resistance to electrical shock. Paints in which the polymer coating on the pigments amts. to above 0.1 pref. above 0.5 pts.wt. have good exfoliation resistance.
