This invention is directed to 4-hydroxy, 4-alkoxy, and 4-araloxy 6,9 -bis (substituted-amino)benzo (g)isoquinoline diones. These compounds have antitumor activity, both (in vivo) and (in vitro). The synthesis pathway of these compounds involves a novel intermediate.
