Properties of can and coil coatings are improved by employing as the curable composition a blend or mixture of (A) at least one compound containing an average of more than one vicinal epoxide group per molecule; (B) at least one compound containing an average of two phenolic hydroxyl groups per molecule; and (C) at least one epoxy phosphate ester; and (D) a curing amount of at least one curing agent.
